HOUSE AT THE LAKE:
a home for Nomads
and Seekers

A dynamic community  of Eco Nomands, Rainbow Family, Post-modern Hippies, Artistic Explorers and any other Free Spirits.

We live in a reality in which we cannot detach our human nature, from nature itself. But unfortunately, in modern society, this detachment happens way too often and too much. Merope provides the perfect antidote: come and stay at our House at the Lake!

The vision behind it is simple, really:
“Open the doors to welcome the world, and the world will welcome you.”

Our “House at the Lake” provides all the space for inwards exploration and creative expression, close to nature.
In here, human contact (with the self and others) can become again what it is supposed to be: a real human connection guided by the heart, instead of only communication guided by the head.

So what are you waiting for?
Come on over and visit.

Anyone who wants to come closer to themselves and nature, is welcome. For short stays or longer ones, for volunteers or participants in courses and workshops. Or simply for those who need to take a step back from daily life.

Merope NGO:
Solutions for Seekers

In the world as we know it, we recognise the need for alternative education to empower people, as well as space for people to simply experiment and explore. That’s why Merope NGO is dedicated to provide and facilitate support to environmental projects, courses, workshops, meditation retreats and other events. Our goal is to strengthen the network of empowered people and places all over the world. Over time Merope aims to create several places and a team of family members who can travel around to feed the dream of a better world.

Right now, our focus is to build up our “House at the Lake”, and provide knowledge and experience on different topics.

In 2017 our working areas will include permaculture, natural building and healing .

We also invite others to organise events at our House at the Lake, or to book us for workshops and courses on your location. Examples could be anything ranging from an artist-in-residence program, sustainable workshops or healing retreats. The goal or content of all courses and events should focus on at least one of our 3 working areas, and show respect to all of them:

. Ecological Sustainability

. Personal Equilibrium

. Dynamic Creativity

Our vision

Merope is built on 3 pillars:

• Ecological Sustainability
• Personal Equilibrium
• Dynamic Creativity

Each of these pillars represent a crucial aspect of a holistic approach to life and self development.

Respect nature, find balance in and with yourself, and shape your reality in a creative way, responding to your environment with agility. In everything we do or organise, we try to take these pillars with us.

Most of the events and courses will be focussed on one of the pillars only. For instance: a permaculture course will be more focused on Ecological Sustainability. A meditation retreat mostly on Personal Equilibrium. An art project or renovation project mostly on Dynamic Creativity.

But we take pride and pleasure in our holistic approach, and will make sure all three of the pillars are present in everything we do.

Meet our family
and join us

As people come and go, some stay for a longer period and are engaged in coming back to work further on the mission and vision of Merope.

These people form the dynamic community that keep Merope alive and growing. The Merope Family is not complete yet and might never be. Who knows, you could be a part of it too.
